What counts as a local move
Anything within the Dallas and Fort Worth metro area, from Denton down to the southern suburbs and out toward Rockwall and Weatherford, is priced as a local move by the hour.
The crew size and truck size are matched to your inventory. A one-bedroom apartment might take two movers and a smaller truck; a four-bedroom house in Frisco typically gets four movers and a full-size box truck.
If you are not sure how large a truck you need, send us a short video of each room and we will size the crew from that rather than guessing high.
A typical move day
The crew arrives in the agreed window, walks the house with you, and pads the door frames and banisters. Furniture is disassembled where needed, wrapped in blankets and stretch film, and loaded in a planned order.
At the new house, everything goes to the room you name. Beds are reassembled, and the crew asks you to check the truck before they leave.
Most single-family local moves in the northern suburbs finish in a single day.
You are welcome to be as involved or as hands-off as you like, but most people find the day goes fastest when they stand at the new house and direct traffic.
Dallas apartment buildings
Uptown, Downtown, and the newer mid-rise communities along the tollway all have their own moving rules. Many require a reserved freight elevator, a certificate of insurance, and a specific window such as nine to four on weekdays.
Ask the leasing office early and pass the requirements to us. We have moved in and out of most of the large complexes and can usually tell you what to expect.
Summer moving in the city
Dallas heat is a real factor between June and September. We start local moves as early as the building or neighborhood allows, rotate crew members on the heaviest carries, and keep the truck doors shut between trips to hold the temperature down.
If you are flexible, a weekday morning slot will be cooler and cheaper than a Saturday afternoon.
Small jobs are welcome
Not every local move is a whole house. We regularly move a single piece of furniture across town, shuttle boxes into a storage unit, or provide labor to load a rented container in your driveway.
Tell us what you have and we will send the right number of people for it.
